Houston, since 1984

Two Houston companies, one van on your drive.

Champion Forest A/C and Nash Mechanical were both homegrown here. They merged, and the combined bench is what turns up now. More than ten thousand Houston area homes have had one of these vans outside.

What we are called out for

Cooling, heating and, since the plumbing licence, the pipe as well.

Air conditioning is still most of the phone. The rest of it grew out of the same houses asking us to look at the next thing while we were already in the attic.

The roster

The van is ours. So is the person getting out of it.

Every technician on this roster is on our payroll, NATE certified, and driving equipment we stocked. Nobody subcontracts your house out to whoever answered first. That is the entire reason the reviews read like they are about people rather than about a company.

  1. Clearance

    A

How much room the cabinet still has

Coil face, breathing room around the unit, the state of the pad. A condenser boxed in by a fence or a hedge recirculates its own hot air and loses capacity before a single part has failed.

  2. Draw

    B

    What the machine is pulling

Amp draw on the compressor and the fan against what the plate says it should pull. This is where a capacitor on its way out announces itself weeks before it strands you.

  3. Charge

    C

    Where the refrigerant actually sits

Superheat and subcool, read properly, on a day that tells you something. A system low on charge is a system with a leak, and topping it up without finding the leak is just billing you again in July.

  4. Airflow

    D

What the duct is letting through

Static pressure and return sizing. Half the Houston homes we see are asking a correctly sized machine to breathe through duct that was never sized for it, then blaming the machine.

Read a few and count how often the company gets mentioned at all.

We were very pleased with the customer service that we received from Miguel and everyone at Champion and Nash. We had an extremely clogged pipe that could not be cleared by normal methods. They had to cut into our walls and removed the pipe. We were very happy with the overall service and price that we received. The plumbing work and drywall work were completed quickly and to our satisfaction. We will call them again.

Bladen and his crew did an awesome job installing a water heater in my attic just in time, before my old one failed. They also installed a flooding monitor that will alert me in the event of a system failure and waters gets into the pan, an inline filter to extend the life of the water heater, and an expansion tank to improve pressure load. Thanks for the great service!!!

I had a great experience with Micah while he was servicing the A/C unit at my commercial property. He was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything clearly. He provided excellent customer service and made sure the job was done right. I highly recommend Champion & Nash for any A/C maintenance or repair needs. Thank you, Micah, for the outstanding service!

I had the pleasure of having Miguel out a few days ago to service my water heater and was very impressed with the experience! He was very thorough in his examination and took the time to fully diagnose and attempt to repair the water heater before even mentioning replacement options. He never felt pushy or made me feel pressured to sign any estimates. I will be having him replace it, and I'm keeping him as my preferred plumber!

Brennan was very friendly and quickly diagnosed the air conditioning issue we were experiencing. He took the time to find a solution that not only fixed the problem but also made sense for our long-term needs. Every employee we've interacted with at Champion and Nash has been consistently professional and personable. Highly recommend their service!

What happens after you call

Four steps, and you know the name before the van arrives.

01

You call, a person answers

Twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, from either the Spring base or Pasadena. Not a message service and not a callback queue.

02

A named technician is assigned

You get the name of the person coming and they arrive in a wrapped Champion and Nash van. No subcontractors on your property.

03

Diagnosis before options

The fault gets found and explained in plain terms, with the reading that proves it, before anyone puts a number on a repair or a replacement.

04

The work, then the tidy

An install typically runs a day to a day and a half depending on the layout and the shape of the old equipment. What came off goes back on.

Asked most often

The things people check before they book.

Yes. The phone is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and it is a real dispatcher rather than a message service. Houston does not politely wait for office hours to hit 96 degrees, and neither does a failed compressor.

Typically a day to a day and a half, depending on your home's layout and what shape the old equipment left things in. We tell you which of the two it is before we start, not halfway through the second afternoon.

One of our own NATE certified technicians in a wrapped Champion and Nash van, not a subcontractor. Our reviews name them: Miguel, Lakota, Zach, Bladen, Micah, Brennan, Gonzalo. That is the whole point of how we hire.

We do. Drain cleaning and clog removal, leak detection, sewer line repair, water heaters and fixture replacement, all under licence M43146. The leak detection is the part people are usually surprised by, because it finds a slab leak without opening the slab first.

Two tune-ups a year, one before summer and one before winter, 15 percent off repairs, priority scheduling and no after hours fee. Filters and coolant are not included, and additional units are charged separately. Ask us for the current membership price when you call.
